metalHOUSE (1) was originally built in 1984 by architect Andy Spatz as his private residence. When he decided to sell the home in 2015, the new owner wanted to make alterations to the interior space to suit his family’s specific needs. All existing appliances and mechanical systems were updated and virtually every surface in the home was reimagined and transformed. New partitions were added to accommodate two private bedrooms and a second full bathroom. The result is a renovation that modernizes the home to allow for family living while still preserving the spatial and stylistic expression originally intended.
